March is an exciting month in craft beer in Boulder County, and this week kicks it off with new beer releases, beer and cookie pairings, and one of the most anticipated craft beer festivals in Boulder County, the 15th Annual Strong Ale Fest at Avery Brewing Company. Here are Beer in Boulder’s picks for five of the most exciting craft beer events happening in the county this week.
Saturday, March 4th, from 12:00 – 4:00 PM
We typically focus on Boulder County exclusively here at Beer in Boulder, but this Wynkoop Brewing Company event just had to get a shout out from your very own Beer in Boulder dorks! This Saturday, check out this LoDo brewery’s Day of the Dorks event, which will celebrate all things nerdy in the craft beer world and beyond. Be one of the first 30 people in the doors to receive a rockin’ limited edition fanny pack (you know you want it) and enjoy the uniquely dorky and delicious brews they’ll have on tap! Tickets are still available, but be sure to get them quick!
Saturday, March 4th, from 12:00 – 5:00 PM
The Strong Ale Fest at Avery Brewing Company is one of the premiere craft beer events in Boulder County (nay, in Colorado!) each and every year. In order to gain entry a brew must clock in at 8% ABV (at least!) and it’s a day of strong, unbelievable brews. The pour list has already been released (thanks PorchDrinking.com!) and, if you were lucky enough to get tickets (unfortunately it’s sold out) this 15th annual event will be one to remember.
Saturday, March 4th, from 3:00 – 8:00 PM
Get into the Mardi Gras spirit and stop by Grossen Bart Brewery on Saturday for live music and crayfish. There’ll be food trucks, plenty of craft brews, and general revelry all afternoon and night!
Sunday, March 5th, at 11:00 AM through Thursday, March 9th, at 8:30 PM
Have you had your fill of Girl Scout Cookies yet this year? The answer is no, Girl Scout Cookies are always delicious, and Left Hand Brewing Company is treating us to beer and cookie pairings all week. Flights are available until the cookies run out, so stop by for your $12 flight of seven cookies and four brews.
Thursday, March 9th, at 6:00 PM
Walnut Brewery is back with their monthly tapping this coming Thursday! This time they’re tapping their Fire Chief Ale, a taproom favorite. Stop by Walnut Brewery for the 6 PM tapping to get a free pint to sample and sip on. Proceeds from purchases of the Fire Chief Ale all month will benefit Children’s Hospital Colorado Burn Camps Program, so you’re also raising your glasses to a wonderful cause.
